Finn Wolfhard responded to the inappropriate comment made towards him by a 27-year-old model

It’s pretty clear that he’s not comfortable with it.

FINN WOLFHARD IS a 14-year-old actor with a good head on his shoulders. Like the rest of the Stranger Things cast, his rise to fame was very sudden and he’s only growing more and more popular. There’s a lot of pressure on him, but he appears to be handling things very well.

When allegations were made against his agent Tyler Grasham from a former client who claimed to have been sexually abused by Grasham as a teenager, Wolfhard immediately dropped the agent. The agency that Grasham worked for dropped him shortly after this, too.

Since Stranger Things 2 was released, people have been obsessed with the young actors involved in the show.

For many people, it comes from a place of thinking “Aw, those kids are so adorable.” However, others are taking it way too far. To the discomfort of many, grown adults have been obsessing over the young actors that took part in Stranger Things.

Many people were very uncomfortable when Millie Bobby Brown (the 13-year-old girl who plays Eleven) was listed as one of the reasons that TV is “sexier than ever” by W magazine.

Similarly, people were shocked when 27-year-old model Ali Michael posted a photograph of 14-year-old Finn Wolfhard to her Instagram story with the caption “Not to be weird but hit me up in 4 years.”

Ali went as far as tagging Finn in the Instagram post, increasing the chances that he would see the post. After people expressed their disgust and concern at the way she sexualised a young teenager, Ali apologised in a statement to Teen Vogue:

On October 30th, I posted an Instagram story with a photo of Finn Wolfhard who plays Mike in Stranger Things, asking him to “call me in four years.”
The general nature of my social media platforms is often one of humour, sarcasm and playful self-deprecation.

The nature of my posts in response to television and media are always tongue-in-cheek and never intended to mislead or upset anyone. In the past, I have asked ficticious characters of films to call me (namely Edward Scissorhands and Simba from the Lion King). In this instance, it has become clear to me that asking a character “to call in four years” and inappropriately tagging the underage actor who plays the character was upsetting, suggestive and concerning for my audience.

It was never my intention (nor has it ever been) to sexualise a minor in any way, shape or form. To those I offended or misled, I apologise for a post made in haste and lacking in sensitivity, particularly considering the landscape of the present culture.

Finn Wolfhard was stopped by TMZ in an airport and asked how he felt about the situation.

The interviewer asked “What do you think about that 27-year-old model?” Finn replied:

Oh, that was nuts. That was gross.

The interviewer told Finn that Ali had apologised and he said “That’s good that she apologised… That’s weird… But it’s fine.”
